It seems that there could be a better way to support Wordpress than charging for features which exist in competing products. WordPress.com has not asked you to buy any feature. They enabled this by default when installing, as they do many features, but it's free. I'm sure you have other reasons to stop using WordPress.com but this one is free and by choice. And I'm also not sure what you mean by "link out of date"? Just curious, because I’m not understanding.
